David Haywood’s MAME(tm) WIP

I decided to look at a writing a driver for game which I’m told was delivered to the Mame Italia guys from an ebay seller in a pizza box ;-)

The game is Dr. Tomy, which appears to be a rip-off of Dr. Mario. It seems to be produced by Playmark of Italy but some of the code is from Big Karnak by Gaelco of Spain, and the hardware works in a similar way to that of the Gaelco game.

I may look at this later tonight with a view to finishing the emulation, however, right now all this talk of Pizza is making me hungry.

I’ve put together a Mame 0.95 release which you can grab over at the mame.net site It includes a nice selection of bug fixes for a number of crashing bugs…

The time for another Diff update is here once again, and a pretty varied one with several nice updates and the odd pleasant surprise for those who like Sega

I feel it is also time to remind people to refrain from making illegal builds containing modifications which we do not approve of, or those which contain legitimate modifications but are failing to distribute the source. Such builds have been causing significant problems for me as of late. (Note, please do not attempt to help me by posting the names/locations of these builds here, it doesn’t actually help)

The Sequel has been emulated in Mame for a while, however I’m now glad to be able to say that the original is also emulated. Cookie and Bibi, released in 1995 is probably one of the first games to be produced by Semicom.

Twisty changed the Blog over from Moveable Type to WordPress, hopefully this will solve the numerous issues people, including myself, were having with the previous system giving constant server errors when attempting to post.
