HazeMD is a Megadrive / Genesis emulator based on the MAME code. It works in exactly the same way MAME does.

108u2 missing file

108u2 is missing a modification made to the Lethal Enforcers video emulation which allows the other sets to run.

place this in vidhrdw

Please note, this doesn’t improve the emulation of the current set, just adds support for the others. I’m not working on the driver.

HazeMD 0.05a

Haze Megadrive Emu 0.05a
————————

Added some extra sets, mostly unlicensed titles, many don’t work because they’re
protected and I haven’t looked at the protection

Also replaced the following sets
NHL 94 (UE) [!]
James Pond II – Codename RoboCod (UE) [!]

with real dumps, these are byteswapped compared to the roms used by the all
standard Genesis emulators, but this byteswapped format is correct, if you look
in MAME you’ll see that practically every single program rom 68k game is like
this. Also preserved the rom label information from the carts. Thanks to Chris
Hardy.

I view using correct dumps as important, regardless of if they function in other
emulators or not, I also view preserving the rom labels and cartridge information
as equally important.

Nothing to write home about, no real improvements to the Genesis or SMS emulation,
although I may look into trying some things to improve the timing soon, time
permitting.

Carrera

Something Guru dumped.. just looks like an unoriginal gambling game, not very interesting to emulate from any point of view.

Reaktor

A kind fellow named Col Turner bought what he thought was a Track and Field PCB, however, upon arrival he noticed something odd. There were no ROMs in the usual CPU Rom sockets and the PCB had some unusual modifications made to it (including the CPU being replaced by a Z80). After testing the board it turned out to be running not Track and Field but an unemulated game by Ziltec called Reaktor. He dumped the roms, and with a bit of work I’ve added it to the driver. Controls, and maybe sound, still need to be sorted out, but the basics appear to run. Anyway, it’s 4:30am here now, so I’ll look at it more in the morning.

Reaktor Reaktor

*Morning Edit*
Added controls, found a few dipswitches. One actually allows the operator to select between a horizontal and vertical cabinet. MAME can’t really handle this very well, but still, it’s an interesting feature, even if you do end up playing the game on its side anyway (but note, the text is all correctly orientated)

HazeMD 0.04a

Haze Megadrive Emu 0.04a
————————

Added a callback to the 68k TAS instruction, this allows Gargoyles and Ex-Mutants
to work again and is cleaner than the previous solution of simply hacking out the
TAS writeback in all cases.

Also added a couple more parent-clone relationships.
