HazeMD is a Megadrive / Genesis emulator based on the MAME code. It works in exactly the same way MAME does.

Wonderleague Star

Another Korean game, this one by ‘Mijin’ (& SemiCom? there are SemiCom logos and it’s a SemiCom board)

This one would have been easier to emulate but for a rather buggy PCB, missing random sprites etc. when tests were being run on it. Thanks to Brian Troha for persevering with the board for me however. Looks like it’s probably the same game Guru got recently, although the revisions will need checking, and he has what should be a sequel too.

SD Fighter

Another SemiCom game… The PCB for this wasn’t working, but thankfully the MCU and ROMs were in good shape.

I don’t know if the space under the playfield is just bad design, or if the tilemap scrolling is wrong.. It’s ugly, but it might be intentional, I’ll have to investigate further.

Bestri

Bestri is a collection of 3 Korean games from Oksan / F2 Systems, it runs in the Cross Pang driver (which is similar to the bootleg Tumble Pop hardware). I’ve also emulated the standalone PCB for the 2nd game ‘Heuk Sua Baek Sa’

This is just one of several Korean games that have been (at least partly) emulated over the past few days.

March On..

March is turning out to be a good month for emulation. Another ‘impossible’ task has almost been completed. This time Gaelco’s Master Boy. It isn’t playable yet, and there could be more problems I’ve not yet encountered, but it’s looking good so far.

Special thanks to Clawgrip for giving us a PCB, and Charles MacDonald for working out how to get code out of the CPU.

MC8123 part 3

.. and the final previously unemulated game that Nicola’s MC8123 work allows to be emulated is DakkoChan House, another Mahjong title, this one running in the system1.c driver. In order to work properly it needs the mahjong control panel emulating correctly (otherwise it hangs when booting) I’ve started looking at this. (Chinsan also needs the controls emulating)
