David Haywood’s MAME(tm) WIP

As far as MAME is concerned I haven’t done a great deal beyond some basic maintenance tasks over the past week or two, I’ve been a little too busy with one or two other things to invest any serious time in it.

The other week I attended the GameCity event in Nottingham, and while I didn’t get to see anything as interesting as the Missile Command documentary I saw last year it was still a worthwhile experience.

One of the presentations was done by David Braben of Frontier Developments, and while the presentation was mostly about the upcoming game ‘The Outsider’, the videos being played leading up to it made me want to go home and install Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 (plus expansions) again, which I did.

So.. I’ve been playing with that, and while I’m not really an artist, I ended up putting together a park that I’d consider pretty good fun, lots of rollercoasters etc.

While I wouldn’t really consider it a finished park you can download it here, and if you have the game, ride on some of the coasters, which is one of the best features of the game. (at least I think you only need that file, dropped into your save folder.. load it in sandbox)

Now.. if only I could get somebody to actually build the park….

I’ve been doing one or two other things too, which I’ll try to post a bit about tomorrow if I find time.
