Mixing chocolate and milk

I’m been busy with the Sega Naomi HW stuff with Haze and ElSemi. Thanks to the latter, I’ve implemented a JVS unimplemented i/o command used by the later games of this hardware.  Now Ikaruga (and others) can be coined up and are playable (although still in wire-frame)…

As a bonus track: thanks to some internet research there, I’ve fixed one of the most long standing bugs that afflicted Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai Special with the back layer pens.

Priorities still need fixing in that driver though (needs some side-by-side tests).

Last but not least: thanks to my site admins for the new blog skin. 😉

My road-trip pointed me to Counter Steer, the other GNW in the zerotrgt.c driver. Seems to be similar but not the same HW as Zero Target, video part is improved/changed over the other game (for example the roz can do a full 360° rotation) and it currently needs a kludge to let it boot due of a weirdness into the comms. Colors uses default MAME palette because proms are undumped for this one, yay…

According to the data, it’s identified as a Zero.

By request I’m been looking at the Zero Target / Gekitsui Oh driver. I’ve fixed the sound and started to look the gfxs in there…

I’m not 100% sure about the colors in there, for sure the hud uses a vram attribute for the “junctions” and that’ll explain why colors are wrong especially for these parts. The rest looks correct but awkward, anybody has a screen of the original game?

EDIT: thanks to various guys that reported to me about the NV video, edited the page with the proper correct colors ^_^
