Fixed for good the transparency bugs with Jangou HW charsets (and this hopefully fixes some graphics in Night Gal too,we’ll see)…they look much better right now.

Thanks to this fix,we can add Country Girl (a medal-type game a.k.a. a mix between 5 card draw poker and the cherry) to the Jangou HW:

Me, Haze and Phil Bennett just wrote another driver for a 1983 Sanritsu game named 4nin-uchi Mahjong Jantotsu. It uses 4 256×224 1bpp bitmaps all banked on the same ram area. Combined, they do the following:

Haze and I are currently writing a driver for Jangou,a 1983 mahjong game from Nichibutsu.
HW uses a blitter for graphics data,so it’s surely more painful to emulate unlike the usual HW.

Game is currently working with sound, thanks to Phil Bennett too.

*edit* added Jangou Lady to the Jangou driver, working with sound too:

Merged The Couples driver with the Merit one.It has still graphics and inputs issues (at least the latter presumably caused by protection),but most of the graphics bugs are fixed:

Dox recently dumped a PCB version of Treasure Island (running on the Burger Time HW),it boots fine but there are encryption issues so it isn’t working…

Then I’ve looked at a Pro Tennis romset, which runs too on the Burger Time HW (rom-swap of Disco No. 1).It’s a pity it’s not an original PCB but a bootleg that is really likely to be a lot similar to the original one:

While I was looking at these, another Data East romset got my attention: a fortune teller machine with a LED array as a display named Destiny Horoscope.

(Notes: video emulation is probably full (!) and I don’t know if it will be added to MAME,we’ll see…)
